Cycling to work day is just around the corner

Wednesday 13th September

Pump up those tyres, brush off the cobwebs and get pedalling.

Save money, reach your daily activity target and who knows you may even beat the traffic. Cycle to Work Day encourages adults across the UK to get on their bike and give cycle commuting a go for one day. Why – because cycling to work is brilliant! If you pledge your commitment through Cycle to Work Day, you may even win a prize for simply getting on your bike. Go here to pledge and find out more https://www.cycletoworkday.org/

In our previous newsletter we talked about how cycling to work is an easy way to reach the recommended level of exercise.

Cycling a remedy for inactivity

It can also save you time and money! Which was why Matt, a customer of ours recently explained for his reason for cycling to work.

Matt who works at Manchester Airport explained to us how the staff car parks are being significantly reduced. He went on to say how his designated parking spot was a 30 minute walk from his office, therefore making his commute a total of 50 minutes. So it made absolute sense to Matt to cycle for 25 minute from door to door.

Arek and I will also be doing our usual 4 mile commute. Our commute takes us from our home in Moss Side, past the ducks in Alexandra Park, where we make a quick stop off at the Nursery to drop of our son. We then head down some quiet roads to the Fallowfield Loop, maybe stopping off to collect some blackberries. Then a short road trip and on to the Chorlton Ees, before popping over Jacksons bridge to reach work. A great way to start the day! And every commute can be adapted for a pleasurable trip.
