A unique bike shop and bike hire centre

We are Sarah and Arek, we also have two children who have accompanied us on our cycling adventure. Sarah and I have been involved in the cycling culture for a long time. From our days as cycle instructors to the running of our independent bike shop, we’ve collected stories of cycling along the way.

In 2010 we’ve started Velo Times (then known as The Bike Barn) in the wooden shed in the grounds of Jacksons Boat Pub. We wanted to offer the locals a way to explore the miles of traffic free scenic routes that sat on their doorstep. From this we also began to serve as the local bike repair and cycling advice shop. Our love of this wonderful and sustainable mode of transport and for the city in which we live, drove us to opening Velo Times. With Velo Times we wanted to help people get the best out of their bike, their city and their time. As well as offering an honest and highest quality bike repair service, we also offer some of the best bikes and accessories for purchase. And our love of sustainable transport and of Manchester made us want to explore the world of Electric Bikes. We offer Electric Bikes from some of the leading brands and we are a service centre for Bosch, Shimano and Bafang.
